If you install a CB radio, amateur (ham) radio or car phone in your vehicle, observe the following precautions to prevent interference with the engine control circuit and other electronic components.
WARNING
- Driving a vehicle requires the driver's full attention. The driver should therefore not use a cellular phone while behind the wheel. Some regions have laws prohibiting the use of a cellular phone while driving.
- If you must make a phone call while driving, it is strongly recommended that you use the "hands-free" mode of your cellular phone. Always exercise great caution and concentrate on driving the vehicle.
- If you cannot devote your full attention to driving while talking on the phone, park the vehicle in a safe location and stop it.
WARNING
- The antenna must be placed as far as possible from the electronic control modules.
- Make sure there is at least 20 cm (8 in) between the antenna wire and the electronic control unit harnesses. Route the antenna wire away from any harness.
- Adjust the standing wave ratio of the antenna in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Connect the radio BP chassis ground wire to the body.
- For more information on this, consult a NISSAN dealer.
