Clutch Cable

GENERAL INFORMATION

The release lever is located on the upper part of the transmission. Removal

PROCEDURE

1. Locate the clutch cable and loosen the cable sheath lock nut and the knurled adjusting nut.

2. Disconnect the cable and remove the cable sheath from the bracket.

3. Inside the vehicle, disconnect the cable from the pedal. It may be necessary to remove the instrument panel.

4. Pull the cable through the bulkhead of the engine compartment. Alternatively, remove the two bolts securing the sheath holder and remove the holder together with the cable.

5. Straighten the clips and remove the cable.

6. Check the cable for signs of wear and damage.

7. Check that the cable moves freely in the sheath. Note that after installation the cable may bind, even though it appears to move easily when fully straightened.

Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Lubricate the cable ends and pass the cable through the bulkhead.

2. Secure the sheath holder.

3. Attach the cable to the pedal.

4. Route the cable and secure it with clips.

5. Attach the cable to the release fork lever and adjust the clutch pedal.
