Locking the vehicle

There are three ways to lock the vehicle: remote locking, locking with button 3, and locking with the RENAULT card.

Remote locking

With the RENAULT card on you and the doors and tailgate closed, walk away from the vehicle: the locks lock automatically as soon as you leave zone 1.

Note: the distance at which the vehicle's doors can be locked depends on external conditions.

Locking is confirmed by one short flash, then one long flash of the hazard warning lights and an audible signal.

This audible signal can be switched off.

If any of the body's opening elements (doors or tailgate) is open or not fully closed, or if the card is inside the cabin (or in the card reader), locking is not possible. In this case, no audible signal sounds and the hazard warning lights do not flash.

Driver responsibility when parked or after stopping the vehicle Never leave the vehicle with a child, a dependent adult or an animal inside, even for a very short time. They could endanger themselves or others by starting the engine, operating equipment such as the window lifts, or locking the door locks... In addition, note that on hot and/or very sunny days, the temperature inside the cabin rises very quickly.

Locking with button 3

With the doors and tailgate closed and the vehicle locked, press button 3 on the front door handle. The vehicle's locks lock. Locking is confirmed by two flashes of the hazard warning lights.

If any door or the tailgate is open or not fully closed, the locks quickly lock and unlock.

Note: the RENAULT card must be within range (zone 1) for locking with the button to be possible.

Note: within three seconds of locking the locks by pressing button 3, unlocking them is not possible.

Locking with the RENAULT card

With the doors and tailgate closed, press button 5: the vehicle's locks lock.

Locking of the locks is confirmed by two flashes of the hazard warning lights.

Note: the maximum distance at which the vehicle's locks can be locked depends on external conditions.

After locking/unlocking the vehicle's locks or the tailgate itself using the RENAULT card buttons, the hands-free locking and unlocking function is disabled.

To return to the "hands-free" function: restart the vehicle.

Special features

Locking the vehicle's locks is not possible when:

• any of the body's opening elements (doors or tailgate) is open or not fully closed;
• the card remains in zone 6 (or in the card reader) and no other card is in the external detection zone.

Alarm signalling that the hands-free RENAULT card has not been detected

With the engine running, if a door is opened or closed and the card is not in zone 6, the message "CARD NOT DETECTED" appears and an audible signal sounds.

The warning signal stops as soon as the card is back in zone 6.
