Heating, air conditioning

Heating, air conditioning
The controls
- Air recirculation control.
- Air temperature adjustment.
- Adjusting the fan speed.
- Air distribution adjustment in the passenger compartment.
- Rear window and heated mirror demisting/defrosting control and indicator.
- Air conditioning on/off control and indicator (depending on vehicle).
Information and operating tips:
Refer to the "Air conditioning: information and operating tips" section.
Switching the air conditioning on or off
Button 6 switches the air conditioning on (indicator lit) or off (indicator off).
Using the air conditioning:
- lowers the temperature inside the passenger compartment;
- clears condensation more quickly.
The air conditioning does not operate when the outside temperature is low.
Air temperature adjustment
Turn control 2 to the desired temperature. The further the slider is towards red, the higher the temperature.
During prolonged use of the air conditioning, you may feel cold. To increase the temperature, turn control 2 to the right.
Air distribution in the passenger compartment

Air distribution in the passenger compartment
Turn control 4 so that the slider faces the marked positions.
Airflow is directed to the windscreen and side window demisting outlets. This position helps prevent condensation.
Airflow is directed to the windscreen and side window demisting outlets and the occupants' footwells.
This position is recommended for optimum comfort in cold weather.
Airflow is directed mainly to the occupants' footwells.
Airflow is directed to all vents and the occupants' footwells.
This position is recommended for optimum comfort in hot weather.
Airflow is directed mainly to the dashboard vents. This position heats or cools the passenger compartment more quickly.
Quick demisting
Set the controls to positions W.
:
- outside air;
- maximum temperature;
- demisting.
Using the air conditioning speeds up demisting.
Adjusting the fan speed
Normal use
Turn control 3 to one of the four positions to switch on the fan and set its speed.
Choose position 1 for minimum fan speed and position 4 for maximum fan speed.
Position 0
In this position:
- the air conditioning switches off automatically even if button 6 is on (indicator remains lit);
- the fan speed in the passenger compartment is zero;
- there is nevertheless a slight airflow when the vehicle is moving.
Avoid this position in everyday use.

Air recirculation (passenger compartment isolation)
Turn control 1 to the air recirculation symbol
.
In these conditions, air is taken from the passenger compartment and recirculated without any intake of outside air.
Air recirculation allows you to:
- isolate yourself from outside air (driving in polluted areas, bad odours, etc.);
- reach the desired temperature in the passenger compartment more efficiently.
Prolonged use of this setting may cause the side windows and windshield to fog up, and the cabin air will not be refreshed, which can be uncomfortable.
It is therefore recommended to return to normal operation (outside air) by turning control 1 again as soon as air recirculation is no longer needed.
