General information
An engine consumes oil to lubricate and cool its moving parts, so topping up the oil between oil changes is normal.
However, if after the running-in period oil consumption exceeds 0.5 litre per 1,000 km, consult a brand representative.
Frequency: check your oil level regularly and, in any case, before every long trip, otherwise you risk damaging your engine.
Reading the oil level
The reading must be taken on level ground and after the engine has been stopped for an extended period.
To know the exact oil level and make sure the maximum level is not exceeded (risk of engine damage), it is essential to use the dipstick. Refer to the following pages.
The dashboard warning only comes on when the oil level is at minimum.
Minimum oil level display A

Minimum oil level display A
If the level is above the minimum
The message "oil level" appears on the display, together with bars indicating the level. As the level drops, they are replaced by dashes.
To return to the trip computer display, press 1 or 2 again.
If the level is at minimum

The message "oil level to be adjusted" or "oil" and the warning light
come on in the instrument panel.
Top up the level as soon as possible.
! The display only warns when the level is at minimum, never when the maximum level is exceeded, which can only be detected by reading the dipstick.Reading the level on the dipstick

Checking the level on the dipstick
Engine off:
- remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth;
- push the dipstick fully home;
- remove the dipstick again;
- read the level: it must never drop below the "MIN" mark A or exceed the "MAX" mark B.
Once the level has been read, make sure to push the dipstick fully home.
Engine oil level above maximum
The level must only be read using the dipstick, as described above.
If the maximum level is exceeded, do not start the vehicle; contact a brand representative.
! Deactivate the Stop and Start function before any work in the engine compartment. ! Never exceed maximum fill level B: risk of damage to the engine and catalytic converter.To avoid spills, we recommend using a funnel when topping up or filling with oil.
If the level drops abnormally or repeatedly, consult a Brand Representative.
! When working near the engine, it may be hot. In addition, the cooling fan may start at any time. Risk of injury.Test yourself
