Variable assist steering
The variable-assistance power steering has an electronic control system that adjusts the level of assistance according to vehicle speed.
The steering is lighter when manoeuvring for parking (for greater comfort), while the effort increases progressively as speed increases (for better safety at high speed).
Do not hold the steering wheel at full lock against the stop when stationary.Do not drive with a poorly charged battery. The steering wheel may not operate correctly.
With the engine off or if the system fails, the steering wheel can still be turned. More effort will be required.
Turning the steering wheel quickly may produce a noise; this is normal.
Never switch off the engine going downhill or, in general, while driving (power assistance will be lost).
