Opening and closing the doors

Opening from outside
Doors unlocked or RENAULT "hands-free" card on you: grip handle 1 and pull towards you.
In some cases, it is necessary to pull the handle twice to open the door.
For safety reasons, opening and closing operations must only be carried out with the vehicle stopped.

Opening from inside
Pull handle 2.
Lights-left-on audible warning
When a door is opened, an audible alarm sounds to warn you that the lights have been left on while the ignition is switched off.
Card left in vehicle warning
When the driver's door is opened, if the card is still in the reader, the message "Remove card" appears on the instrument panel, accompanied by an audible signal.
Unclosed opening alarm
If an opening (door or boot) is open or not properly closed, the message "Boot open" or "Door open" (depending on the opening) appears on the instrument panel, accompanied by a warning light, as soon as the vehicle reaches approximately 10 km/h.
Two-door version specifics
Each time one of the doors is opened, the window lowers a few centimetres to make it easier to operate the door. The window rises again as soon as the door is closed.In case of frost or snow that could prevent the window from lowering when a door is opened, be sure to remove the frost (snow) to free the window before closing the door.
If you need to disconnect the battery (breakdown recovery, etc.), lower the windows to make it easier to handle the doors while the battery is disconnected.
Closing the doors also closes the windows.
Risk of serious injury.

If you pull handle 1 without opening the door, the window lowers a few centimetres, then rises again after about 20 seconds. Do not put your fingers above the window.
Risk of injury.
Do not close the door while holding the window.
Take care not to position your fingers too high on area 4.
Risk of injury.
Operating faults
In case of battery failure:
- to open the door: pull handle 1, then open the door gently to avoid damaging seal 3;
- to close the door: press the top of the window (area 4) while holding the door by handle 1 to allow it to pass under seal 3, then close the door without slamming it.
In case of power window failure
The window does not lower when the door is opened and does not rise when the door is closed. In this case, pull the window switch of the affected window six times in succession to fully raise the window.
To close the door, proceed as described in the section "In case of battery failure".

Child safety
Vehicle with
switch 5
Press switch 5 to allow the rear doors to be opened.
If the vehicle is fitted with electric rear windows, this action also allows them to operate.
The built-in indicator light on the switch comes on to show that the doors are locked.
Note: if the system fails, the message "Check child lock" appears on the instrument panel: consult a Brand Representative.
Rear occupant safety
The driver can enable the rear doors and, depending on the vehicle, the power windows by pressing switch 5 on the side shown in the diagram.
Depending on the vehicle, in case of failure:
- an audible signal sounds;
- a message appears on the instrument panel;
- the built-in indicator light does not come on.
After disconnecting the battery, you must press switch 5 on the side shown in the diagram to lock the rear doors.

Vehicle with manual door locking
To make it impossible to open the rear doors from the inside, move lever 6 and check from the inside that the doors are locked.
Driver's responsibility when parking or stopping the vehicle
Never leave your vehicle with a child, a dependent adult or an animal inside, even for a short time.
Indeed, they could put themselves or others in danger, for example by starting the engine, operating equipment such as the window controls, or locking the doors.
In addition, in hot and/or sunny weather, be aware that the temperature inside the passenger compartment rises very quickly.
RISK OF DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.
