Supplemental restraint systems

All the warnings below are intended to avoid obstructing airbag deployment and to prevent serious direct injury from being struck by it as it opens.

The airbag
is designed to supplement the action of the seat belt; the airbag and seat belt form inseparable parts of the same protection system. It is therefore essential to wear the seat belt at all times. Not wearing the seat belt exposes occupants to increased injury in an accident, and can also increase the risk of skin surface injuries inherent to airbag deployment itself.

Pretensioners or airbags may not deploy in a rollover or even a severe rear impact. Impacts underneath the vehicle, such as with curbs, potholes, stones, etc., may trigger these systems.

• Any work or modification to the complete airbag system (airbags, pretensioners, electronic control unit, wiring, etc.) is strictly prohibited (except by qualified personnel of the brand Network).
• To maintain correct operation and to avoid unintended deployment, only qualified Brand Network personnel are authorised to work on an airbag system.
• For safety reasons, have the airbag system checked if the vehicle has been involved in an accident, theft or attempted theft.
• When lending or selling the vehicle, inform the new owner of these conditions by handing over this owner's and maintenance manual.
• When scrapping the vehicle, contact a brand Representative for disposal of the gas generator(s).

Operating faults

Warning light 1 lights up on the instrument panel when the ignition is switched on, then goes out after a few seconds.

If it does not light up when the ignition is switched on, or if it lights up with the engine running, it indicates a fault in the system (airbags, pretensioners, ...) at the front and/or rear seats.

Consult a brand Representative as soon as possible. Any delay may reduce the effectiveness of the protection.
