Range
Make sure the battery is in good condition, of the correct type and correctly inserted.
Its service life is approximately two years: replace it when the message "Card battery low" appears on the instrument panel (refer to the section "RENAULT card: battery" in chapter 5).
RENAULT card operating range
It varies with the environment: take care when handling the RENAULT card, as accidentally pressing the buttons may lock or unlock the vehicle.
Key fob battery flat: you can still lock/unlock and start the vehicle. Refer to the "Locking/unlocking the vehicle" section in chapter 1 and the "Starting the engine" section in chapter 2.
Driver's responsibility
Never leave your vehicle with the RENAULT card inside and a child (or an animal) left in it, even for a short time.
The child could endanger themselves or others by starting the engine, operating equipment such as the power windows, or locking the doors.
Risk of serious injury.

Integrated key 5
The integrated key is used to lock or unlock the front left door when the RENAULT card cannot operate:
- wear of the RENAULT card battery, discharged vehicle battery...
- use of devices operating on the same frequency as the card;
- vehicle located in an area with strong electromagnetic radiation.
Access to the key 5
Press button 6, pull key 5, then release the button.
Using the key
Refer to the section "Locking/unlocking the doors".
Once you have entered the vehicle using the integrated key, put it back in its housing in the RENAULT card, then insert the RENAULT card into the card reader to be able to start the engine.
AdviceDo not expose the card to heat, cold or humidity.
Do not store the RENAULT card where it could be bent or accidentally damaged, for example by sitting on a card stored in a back pocket.
Replacement, need for an additional RENAULT cardIf lost, or if you require another RENAULT card, contact a brand Representative only.
If a RENAULT card is replaced, the vehicle and all its RENAULT cards must be taken to a brand Representative to reset the whole set.
You can use up to four RENAULT cards per vehicle.

Unlocking the doors and fuel filler flap
Press unlock button 1.
Unlocking is indicated by the hazard warning lights flashing.
Special features (for certain countries):
- pressing button 1 once unlocks only the driver's door and the fuel filler flap;
- pressing button 1 twice in succession then unlocks all the openings.
Locking the doors and fuel filler flap
Press lock button 2.
Locking is indicated by the hazard warning lights flashing twice.
If an opening (door or boot) is open or not properly closed, or if a RENAULT card has been left in the card reader, the vehicle locks and then immediately unlocks again, with no hazard warning light flashing.
Unlocking/locking the luggage compartment only
Press button 4 to unlock or lock the luggage compartment.
The hazard warning lights flash to indicate the vehicle's status:- one flash indicates that the vehicle is fully unlocked;
- two flashes indicate that the vehicle is fully locked.
"Remote lighting" function
Allows you to locate your vehicle from a distance, for example in a car park.
Pressing button 3 switches on the vehicle's dipped headlamps, side repeaters and interior lighting for approximately 30 seconds.
Note: pressing button 3 again switches off the lighting.
RENAULT card not detected alarm
If you open a door with the engine running while the card is not in the reader, the message "Card not detected" and an audible signal warn you. The warning disappears when the card is returned to the reader.
With the engine running, the buttons on the card are disabled.

Operation
On vehicles so equipped, in addition to the functions of the remote-control RENAULT card described previously, it allows locking/unlocking without any action on the RENAULT card when it is present in access zone 1 (five-door version) or 2 (two-door version).

Advice
Do not store the RENAULT card where it could come into contact with other electronic equipment (computer, PDA, telephone, etc.) which may disturb operation.
After unlocking only the vehicle or the boot using the RENAULT card button, locking on departure and hands-free unlocking are deactivated. To return to hands-free operation: restart the vehicle.

Unlocking the vehicle
With the RENAULT card in zone 1 or 2, pass your hand behind a handle 3: the vehicle unlocks.
In certain cases (for example, if the vehicle has been parked for several days) you will need to pull handle 3 twice to unlock the vehicle and open the door.
Pressing button 4 or 5 (where fitted) also unlocks the entire vehicle.
Unlocking is indicated by the hazard warning lights flashing.

Locking the vehicle
There are three locking modes for the vehicle: automatic locking when moving away, using button 6, and using the RENAULT card.
Automatic locking when moving away
With the RENAULT card on you and the doors and luggage compartment closed, walk away from the vehicle: it locks automatically as soon as you leave zone 1 or 2.
Note: the distance at which the vehicle locks depends on the environment.

Locking is confirmed by two flashes of the hazard warning lights and an audible signal.
This audible signal can be modified or deactivated. Consult a brand Representative.
If an opening (door or tailgate) is open or not properly closed, or if a card is inside the passenger compartment (or in the card reader), the vehicle does not lock.
In this case, there is no audible signal and the hazard warning lamps do not flash.
When the vehicle is equipped with remote window closing, two quick presses on button 6 automatically close all the windows when the doors are locked from the outside (refer to the "Electric windows, electric sunroof" section in chapter 3).
Locking using button 6
With the doors and luggage compartment closed, press button 6 on the driver's door handle. The vehicle locks.
If a door or the luggage compartment is open or not properly closed, the vehicle locks/unlocks quickly.
Note: the RENAULT card must be present in the access zone (zone 1 or 2) of the vehicle for locking with the button.
Special feature
If you want to check that the vehicle is locked after locking with button 6, you have approximately three seconds to operate the door handles without unlocking.
Then, hands-free mode is active again and any action on a handle unlocks the vehicle.

Locking using the RENAULT card
With the doors and luggage compartment closed, press button 7: the vehicle locks.
Locking is indicated by the hazard warning lights flashing twice.
Note: the maximum distance at which the vehicle locks depends on the environment.

Special features
The vehicle cannot be locked if:
- an opening (door or boot) is open or not properly closed;
- a card has remained in zone 8 (or in the card reader) and no other card is within the exterior detection zone.
With the engine running, if after opening and closing a door the card is no longer inside the passenger compartment, the message "Card not detected" (accompanied by an audible signal when the speed exceeds a threshold) warns you that the card is no longer in the vehicle. This prevents, for example, driving off after dropping off a passenger who has the card on them.
The warning disappears when the card is detected again.
After locking/unlocking only the vehicle or the boot using the buttons on the RENAULT card, locking on departure and hands-free unlocking are deactivated. To restore hands-free operation: restart the vehicle.

When the vehicle is fitted with super-locking, it locks the openings and prevents the doors from being opened using the interior handles (for example after a broken window followed by an attempt to open the doors from inside).
Never use super-locking of the doors if someone remains inside the vehicle.

To activate superlocking
Vehicle with RENAULT card
Press button 2 twice in quick succession.
Vehicle with RENAULT "hands-free" card
With the vehicle unlocked, you also have the option of pressing button 3 on the driver's door twice in quick succession.
In both cases, locking is confirmed by five flashes of the hazard warning lights.
To deactivate superlocking
Unlock the vehicle using button 1 on the RENAULT card.
Unlocking is indicated by the hazard warning lights flashing.
Activating super-locking also activates, on vehicles so equipped, remote closing of the windows and/or electric sunroof. After activating super-locking using button 2, locking when moving away and hands-free unlocking are disabled.
To restore hands-free operation: restart the vehicle.

When the vehicle is equipped with this card, it can be identified by the word "SERVICE" engraved on the card.
In some situations, you may want to hand over your vehicle to a third party (valet parking, tow truck driver, etc.) while limiting their access to it.
The RENAULT "SERVICE" card allows the vehicle to be locked, but only allows the driver's door to be unlocked and the vehicle to be started.

Activating "SERVICE" mode
Insert the RENAULT "SERVICE" card into card reader 1. All the vehicle's openings lock (except the driver's door).
Deactivating "SERVICE" mode
There are two options:
- Press a button on a RENAULT card (other than the RENAULT "SERVICE" card);
- start the engine with a RENAULT card (other than the RENAULT "SERVICE" card). Card in reader 1, press button 3.
Each vehicle can have only one RENAULT "SERVICE" card.
While a RENAULT "SERVICE" card is in use, all other cards keep their full functions.
