Windscreen wiper, windscreen washer

Vehicle fitted with intermittent front wipers
A off
B intermittent wiping
Between wipes, the blades stop for several seconds.
The interval between wipes can be changed by turning ring 2.
C continuous slow wiping D continuous fast wiping

Special feature
When driving, any stop of the vehicle reduces the wiping speed. From continuous fast speed, you switch to continuous slow speed. As soon as the vehicle moves, wiping returns to the originally selected speed.
Any action on lever 1 takes priority and therefore cancels the automatic function.
On all vehicles, position C is accessible with the ignition on, and positions B and D are accessible only with the engine running.Vehicle fitted with front wipers with rain sensor
A off
B automatic wiping function.
With this position selected, the system detects water on the windscreen and triggers wipes at the appropriate wiping speed. The rain-sensor threshold and the time between wipes can be changed by turning ring 2:
- E: minimum sensitivity
- F: maximum sensitivity
Note: in fog or during snowfall, automatic wiping is not systematic and remains under the driver's control.
C continuous slow wiping D continuous fast wiping

Windscreen washer
Ignition on, pull lever 1, then release.
A short action triggers, in addition to washing, one back-and-forth sweep of the wipers.
Note: engine off or vehicle with intermittent wipers, a prolonged action triggers, in addition to the washer, three back-and-forth sweeps followed, after a few seconds, by a fourth.
Headlamp washers
Headlamps on
On vehicles so equipped, hold lever 1 pulled towards you for about 1 second. This operates the headlamp washers at the same time as the windscreen washer.
Note: when the washer fluid reaches the minimum level, the headlamp washer circuit may lose its prime.
Fill up with washer fluid, then operate it with the engine running to re-prime the circuit.
In snow or frost, clear the windscreen (including the central area behind the interior rear-view mirror) and the rear window before switching on the wipers (risk of engine overheating).
When working under the bonnet, make sure the wiper stalk is in position A (off).
Risk of injury.
Before any action on the windscreen (washing the vehicle, defrosting, cleaning the windscreen...), move lever 1 to position A (off).
Risk of injury and/or damage.

Rear
wiper
Ignition on, turn ring A of lever 1 until marker 2 is opposite the symbol, then release it.
To stop operation, turn ring A again.
The wiping frequency varies according to vehicle speed.
Activating/deactivating the rear wiper
Your vehicle is designed to activate the rear wiper when reverse gear is engaged (if the front wipers are operating). You may choose to activate or deactivate this function.
To do so, refer to the section "Vehicle settings personalisation menu" in chapter 1, function "Rear wiper in reverse".

Ignition on, push the lever.
Before any action on the windscreen (washing the vehicle, defrosting, cleaning the windscreen, ...), move lever 1 to the off position.
Risk of injury or damage.
Check the condition of the wiper blades regularly. Their service life depends on you:- they must be kept clean: clean the blades, windscreen and rear window regularly with soapy water;
- do not use them when the windscreen or rear window is dry;
- free them from the windscreen or rear window when they have not been used for a long time.
In all cases, replace them as soon as their effectiveness decreases: approximately every year.
Before using the rear wiper, make sure no carried item obstructs the blade's travel.
Do not use the wiper arm to open or close the tailgate.
