REMOVAL
- Position the vehicle on a two-post lift.
- Disconnect the battery (see Electrical Equipment chapter).
- Remove the undershield.
- Drain the engine oil.
- Remove:
- the engine covers,
- the oil dipstick,
- the front wheels,
- the mudguards,

- Remove:
- the left and right side reinforcement mountings,
- the left and right side reinforcements (1).
- Secure the cooling assembly to the upper crossmember.

- Remove the mountings (2) of the lower radiator crossmember.
K4J or K4M or K9K
- Remove:
- the right driveshaft flange mountings on the bearing bracket,
- the bearing bracket mountings on the sump,
- the catalytic converter support bracket,
- the sump mounting on the multi-function bracket,
- the sump mounting,
- the sump.
F4R or F9Q
- Remove:
- the torque reaction rod,
- the sump mountings,
- the sump.
INSTALLATION
K4J or K4M or K9K
WARNINGExcess sealant at application may overflow when the parts are tightened. Mixing the product with the fluid may degrade certain components (engine, radiator).

- Apply four beads of 12F008 silicone, part number 7711219706, at (4), 5 mm diameter.
- Apply two dots of 12F008 silicone, part number 7711219706, at (5), 7 mm diameter, at the intersection of the crankshaft end plate and the cylinder block.

- When refitting the sump, check that:
- the tabs (6) of the anti-emulsion plate are correctly located in the notches (7),
- the cylinder block and the flywheel-end sump are aligned to prevent distortion of the clutch housing.

- Refit:
- the anti-emulsion plate on the cylinder block,
- the sump:
- pre-tighten the sump mounting bolts (0.8 daN.m) in sequence from (20) to (14),
- tighten the sump mounting bolts (K4J, K4M, K9K engines) (1.4 daN.m) in sequence from (20) to (14),
- pre-tighten the sump mounting bolts (0.8 daN.m) in sequence from (9) to (15),
- tighten the sump mounting bolts (1.4 daN.m) in sequence from (9) to (15),
F4R or F9Q
WARNINGExcess sealant at application may overflow when the parts are tightened. Mixing the product with the fluid may degrade certain components (engine, radiator).

- Apply a bead of RHODORSEAL 5661 silicone:
- at (4), on each side of bearing N 1,
- at (5), at the intersection of the crankshaft end plate and the cylinder block.
- Refit the sump with a new gasket.

- Pre-tighten the sump mounting bolts in sequence to torque (0.5 daN.m).
- Tighten the sump mounting bolts in sequence to torque (F9Q, F4R engines) (1.4 daN.m).
F4R or F9Q or K4J or K4M or K9K
- Tighten to the following torques:
- front radiator crossmember mounting bolts (10.5 daN.m),
- rear radiator crossmember mounting bolts (2.1 daN.m),
- torque reaction rod on the subframe (10.5 daN.m),
- torque reaction rod on the engine (K4J, K4M, K9K) (10.5 daN.m),
- torque reaction rod on the engine (F4R, F9Q) (18 daN.m).
- Refit in the reverse order of removal.
- Refill the engine oil.
Connect the battery; carry out the necessary re-learns (see Electrical Equipment chapter).
