Description

This system continuously monitors the pressure of all four tyres on the vehicle and detects system faults.
The spare wheel is not monitored.
The system warns the driver of:
- overinflation,
- slight or severe underinflation,
- puncture,
- tyre pressures not suited to the vehicle speed,
- slow leak between the left and right tyres,
- left-right imbalance on start-up,
- sensor faults.
The system corrects the measured pressures against the coldest wheel. The corrected pressure is used for leak detection and left-right imbalance detection.
The system consists of:
- four pressure sensors built into the valves (one per wheel); they transmit a radio frequency signal,
- the cabin control unit, which receives, decodes and processes the sensor information, then determines the message to display,
- a display built into the instrument panel.
Each sensor is identified by a colour marker around the valve:
- green = front left,
- yellow = front right,
- red = rear left,
- black = rear right.
The colour code must be strictly observed so that the system displays the information correctly.
Each sensor is recognised by the cabin control unit through a unique code.
Wheels may only be swapped if the sensors are relearned and the colour codes are repositioned.
