Centralised engine coolant temperature management
B84 or C84
The cooling fan assembly is controlled by the injection ECU.
I - ANTI-PERCOLATION FUNCTION
The anti-percolation function is controlled by the injection ECU.
The coolant temperature information used is that of the injection system.
K4J or K4M
After the ignition is switched off, the system enters monitoring mode. If the coolant temperature exceeds the 103 C threshold during the 5 minutes following engine shutdown, the cooling fan assembly low speed is controlled.
F4R
After the ignition is switched off, the system enters monitoring mode. If the coolant temperature exceeds the 110 C threshold during the 2 minutes following engine shutdown, the cooling fan assembly low speed is controlled.
If the coolant temperature drops back below 100 C, the cooling fan assembly relay is switched off (the cooling fan assembly cannot be controlled for more than 10 minutes).
II - COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY OPERATION
The cooling fan assembly is controlled at low speed if the coolant temperature exceeds 98 C, and stops when the temperature drops below 96 C.
The cooling fan assembly is controlled at high speed if the coolant temperature exceeds 102 C, and stops when the temperature drops below 99 C.
III - TEMPERATURE WARNING LIGHT OPERATION
The temperature warning light comes on if the coolant temperature exceeds 119 C, and goes off when the temperature drops below 115 C.
