ECU connector B pin M4 → pin 1 of fuel flow actuator

Repair if necessary.

Check:
  • The presence of fuel in the tank.
  • The absence of air in the fuel circuit.
  • The condition of the diesel fuel filter.

Repair if necessary.

1.DEF 2.DEF 7.DEF

INSTRUCTIONS

Condition for applying the diagnostic on a stored fault: fault reported present with engine running.

Perform Test 7 "HIGH-PRESSURE PUMP CHECK".

Perform Test 10 "INJECTOR RETURN FLOW DURING STARTING PHASE".

AFTER REPAIR

Address any faults declared by the diagnostic tool. Clear the ECU memory.

Carry out a road test followed by a further check with the diagnostic tool.

DF057 STORED DIESEL WATER DETECTOR CIRCUIT

CO.1: Open circuit or short circuit to +12 volts
CC.0: Short circuit to ground
1.DEF: Above maximum threshold

INSTRUCTIONS

Condition for applying the diagnostic on a stored fault: fault reported present with engine running.

Severity 1 warning light comes on with the message "check the diesel filter".

Check for water in the diesel filter; clean and replace the filter if necessary.
Check the condition of the 3-pin water detector connector.

Repair if necessary.

Check the condition of the 32-way ECU connector C.

Repair if necessary.

Check the insulation, continuity and absence of parasitic resistance of the following wiring:

Sensor connector → pin 3 ground
Sensor connector → pin 2 Pin B3 of ECU connector C
Sensor connector → pin 1 + APC

Repair if necessary.

AFTER REPAIR

Address any faults declared by the diagnostic tool. Clear the ECU memory.

Carry out a road test followed by a further check with the diagnostic tool.

DF059 STORED COMBUSTION MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 1

INSTRUCTIONS

Diagnostic application condition for stored fault: fault declared present with engine at idle.

Processing priority when multiple faults occur: if DF026 (CC or CO) and DF059 occur together, treat the cylinder 1 injector control circuit fault first: DF026 (CC or CO).

Priority when several faults are present: if faults DF053 (1.DEF, 2.DEF, 7.DEF) and DF059 are stored together, deal with the pressure regulation fault first: DF053.

Check cylinder sealing.

Repair if necessary.

Check the valve clearance and adjust if necessary.
Check the intake ducts and the EGR valve, and clean them if necessary.
Replace the injector.

AFTER REPAIR

Address any faults declared by the diagnostic tool. Clear the ECU memory.

Carry out a road test followed by a further check with the diagnostic tool.

DF060 STORED MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 2

INSTRUCTIONS

Diagnostic application condition for stored fault: fault declared present with engine at idle.

Priority when several faults are present: if faults DF027 (SC or OC) and DF060 are stored together, deal with the cylinder 2 injector control circuit fault first: DF027 (SC or OC).

Priority when several faults are present: if faults DF053 (1.DEF, 2.DEF, 7.DEF) and DF060 are stored together, deal with the pressure regulation fault first: DF053.

DF061 STORED MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 3

INSTRUCTIONS

Diagnostic application condition for stored fault: fault declared present with engine at idle.

Priority when several faults are present: if faults DF028 (SC or OC) and DF061 are stored together, deal with the cylinder 3 injector control circuit fault first: DF028 (SC or OC).

Priority when several faults are present: if faults DF053 (1.DEF, 2.DEF, 7.DEF) and DF061 are stored together, deal with the pressure regulation fault first: DF053.

Check cylinder sealing.

Repair if necessary.

Check the valve clearance and adjust if necessary.
Check the intake ducts and the EGR valve, and clean them if necessary.
Replace the injector.

AFTER REPAIR

Address any faults declared by the diagnostic tool. Clear the ECU memory.
