FRONT LEFT WHEEL VALVE INFORMATION

FRONT RIGHT WHEEL VALVE INFORMATION

REAR RIGHT WHEEL VALVE INFORMATION

REAR LEFT WHEEL VALVE INFORMATION

INSTRUCTIONS

Special note: The presence of a tyre pressure sensor in the wheels requires precautions to be taken when removing and refitting the tyres.

Failure to observe the precautions defined in chapter 35 of the Repair Manual may damage the sensor and consequently cause a fault in the tyre pressure monitoring system.

GOOD: The sensor is working correctly and the pressure is correct.

Absent: The passenger compartment control unit is not receiving information from the sensor.

Overinflated: The sensor is sending information that the tyre is over-inflated.

Punctured: The sensor is sending information that the tyre is very deflated (pressure - 0.6 bar) or that the pressure is dropping rapidly.

Underinflated: The sensor is sending information that the tyre is under-inflated.

STEP 1

Start by checking the tyre inflation and, if necessary, restore the recommended pressure.

Then, to check that the wheel sensors are working correctly, check at each conformity check that all sensors are transmitting. To do this, create a leak in the wheel and check their change of state:

Initial state = overinflated deflate Final state = OK or punctured or underinflated

Initial state = punctured or underinflated inflate Final state = OK or overinflated

STEP 2

Warning: wait 1 minute 30 seconds before checking for a change of state.

  • If the initial state is: overinflated or underinflated

Refer to ALP 2 and 3 "Pressure to be readjusted".

  • If the initial state is: punctured

Refer to ALP 6 "Puncture, change the wheel".

  • If the initial state is: absent

Refer to ALP 4 and 5 "Sensor faulty".

If there is no change of state, replace the sensor of the wheel concerned, observing the instructions and following the learning procedure for the four valve codes, SC002 "Learning the four valve codes" in the "Configurations and learning" chapter of this note.

AFTER REPAIR

Deal with any other states present.

Switch off the ignition and carry out a road test followed by a check with the diagnostic tool.

ET036 WHEEL PRESSURE IMBALANCE

INSTRUCTIONS

Without.

Note: The imbalance threshold between the left and right wheels of an axle is 500 mbar.
Use a pressure gauge to check that the tyre pressures on the vehicle match the pressures specified on the door label, in the vehicle owner's manual or in Repair Manual 364, chapter 35A. If not, adjust the pressures. Make sure the pressures are balanced across the axle(s) concerned.
If the fault persists, contact your Techline.

AFTER REPAIR

Deal with any other states present.

Switch off the ignition and carry out a road test followed by a check with the diagnostic tool.

ET037 TYRE PRESSURE ADAPTED TO SPEED

INSTRUCTIONS

NO: if vehicle speed is above 170 km/h for more than 3 minutes while the pressure of at least one tyre is at least 400 mbar below the 'motorway' pressure.

YES: if vehicle speed is below 170 km/h, or if the pressure of all four wheels matches the PR011 and PR012 'recommended high-speed pressure' parameters, regardless of speed.

Check that the tyre pressures are at the "motorway" pressure (see repair manual 364, chapter 35 A, or the vehicle owner's handbook), and re-inflate the tyres if necessary.

Check that the recommended pressures entered (PR009 to PR012) match the manufacturer data.

If the entered pressures do not match the manufacturer values, write the recommended pressures using procedure VP005 'Writing recommended pressures', described in the 'Configurations and learning' section of this chapter.

If ET037 remains at NO, contact your Techline.

AFTER REPAIR

Deal with any other states present.

Switch off the ignition and carry out a road test followed by a check with the diagnostic tool.

ET040 TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM

INSTRUCTIONS

Check that no fault is present.

ACTIVE: If all four wheel valves transmit their signal and if their signal is correctly received by the passenger compartment control unit.

OUT OF SERVICE: if a component is faulty or incorrectly configured.

If ET040 shows 'out of service':

Check in the configuration read-out that configuration LC017 'TPMS function' is correctly set in the passenger compartment central unit. If not, configure it in the 'write configuration' menu using command CF023 'TPMS function'.
Check that the ABS has no fault.
Use state ET045 'RF frame received' to check that the receiving antenna works correctly by requesting door locking with the card key.
If no fault is found after completing all these checks and ET040 still shows 'out of service', contact your Techline.

AFTER REPAIR

Deal with any other states present.

Switch off the ignition and carry out a road test followed by a check with the diagnostic tool.
