Tightening torques

reinforcement plate mounting screw 2.1 daN.m
fixing screw of the beam reinforcement plate 0.2 daN.m
battery cover screw 0.4 daN.m

REMOVAL

  • Disconnect the battery, starting with the negative terminal.
  • Fit a hose clamp to each water hose leaving the bulkhead in the engine compartment.

In the passenger compartment

Radiateur de chauffage
  • Remove the front sill trim (front section).
Radiateur de chauffage
  • Unclip the access hatch to the lower housing.
Radiateur de chauffage
  • Unclip the side cover
Radiateur de chauffage
  • Remove the screws (1).
  • Remove the assembly.
  • Disconnect the connector of the high beam control unit.
Note: For vehicles with manual heating or air conditioning, set the air temperature control to maximum cold (turn fully to the left). This allows the control lever located above the heater unit to be raised fully.
Radiateur de chauffage
  • Remove the cover (2).
  • Unclip the air ducts (3) and (4).
  • Fold the air duct (3) downwards (5).
  • Lift the air duct at (6).
  • Remove the front air distribution duct (3).
  • Move the wiring harness attached to the dashboard crossmember reinforcement plate (7) aside.
Radiateur de chauffage
  • Remove:
  • the lower cover that covers the dashboard crossmember reinforcement plate,
  • partially the carpet.
  • Loosen the elastic mount (9) connecting the housing and the dashboard crossmember reinforcement plate.
  • Remove the four screws (8) from the dashboard crossmember reinforcement plate.
  • Remove the body reinforcement plate (7) by sliding it towards the front of the vehicle.
Radiateur de chauffage
  • Remove:
  • the accelerator pedal housing connector at (10),
  • the brake pedal sensor at (11).
Radiateur de chauffage
  • Remove the screw (12) from the clamp of the heater unit hoses.
  • Remove the clamp (13) from the heater unit hoses.
Note: Unlock the clamp (13), then lift it to remove it from the heater unit.
  • Place protection on the carpet.
Radiateur de chauffage
  • Remove:
  • the two screws (14) securing the heater radiator,
  • the two screws (15) of the heater radiator connecting clamps.
  • Place a container to collect the coolant.
  • Move the heater radiator aside with its pipes.
  • Move the heater radiator connecting clamps aside.
  • Remove:
  • the heater radiator ducts by pulling them towards the front of the vehicle,
  • the heater radiator.

INSTALLATION

  • When replacing the radiator, always replace the seals.
  • Refit in the reverse order of removal.
  • Reshape the air duct by working through the air outlet holes and applying pressure by hand perpendicular to the fold.
WARNING

Connect the battery; carry out the necessary relearn procedures (Chapter Battery).

  • Tighten to the following torques:
  • the body reinforcement plate mounting screws (2.1 daN.m),
  • the flexible mount bolt (0.2 daN.m).
  • Carry out:
  • the cooling system filling,
  • the cooling system bleeding, see Cooling chapter.
  • Torque the battery cover screws (0.4 daN.m).
  • Carry out a leak test of the cooling system using tool (Ms. 554-07).
