| Rou. 15-01 | Shaft protective cap, 16 mm inside diameter |
| Rou. 604-01 | Hub holder |
| Tav. 476 | Ball joint extractor |
| Tav. 1050-02 | Piston pusher |
Tightening torques |
|
| lower ball joint bolt | 6.2 daN.m |
| steering ball joint nut | 3.7 daN.m |
| driveshaft nut | 28 daN.m |
| shock absorber foot bolt | 10.5 daN.m |
| disc retaining bolt | 1.5 daN.m |
| caliper bracket bolt | 10.5 daN.m |
| wheel bolt | 11 daN.m |
This method requires the following tools:
- tool (Rou. 15-01),
- tool (Rou. 604-01),
- tool (Tav. 476),
- tool (Tav. 1050-02).
The bearing is instrumented. Take care not to damage the wheel speed sensor target when refitting.
REMOVAL
- Remove the hub carrier (see Front Structural Components, Hub carrier, page 31A-10).
F4R or K4J or K4M

- Remove:
- the hub, using a press, supporting it with a 36 mm diameter tube,
- the outer race of the hub carrier bearing, supporting it with a tube of the same diameter as the outer race,
F4R or K4J or K4M

- Remove the inner race of the hub using a 41 mm diameter tube as support.
F9Q or K9K

- Remove:
- the hub, using a press, supporting it with a 41 mm diameter tube,
- the outer race of the hub carrier bearing, supporting it with a tube of the same diameter as the outer race.

- Remove the inner race of the hub using a 46 mm diameter tube as support.
INSTALLATION
WARNING- Always check the surface condition of the hub and the hub carrier bore before refitting the bearing.
- Replace the hub carrier if it is defective.
- Clean:
- the inner and outer surfaces of the new bearing that contact the hub carrier and the hub,
- the hub carrier surfaces in contact with the new bearing,
- the hub surfaces in contact with the new bearing.
- Do not press on the inner race of the bearing to avoid damaging it (very high press-fitting force).

- Refit the sensor holder.
- Position the sensor holder at (x) = 35 +/− 5 from the vertical. This position corresponds to the centre of the housing.
F4R or K4J or K4M

- Support the outer race with a tube of 72 mm outside diameter and 65 mm bore diameter.

- Refit the circlip.
- Check that the circlip is correctly seated by measuring the inside diameter (X1) = 61.6 mm for a bearing with an outside diameter of 72 mm.
F9Q or K9

- Support the outer race with a tube of 77 mm outside diameter and 70 mm bore diameter.

- Refit the circlip.
- Check that the circlip is correctly seated by measuring the inside diameter (X1) = 67.6 mm for a bearing with an outside diameter of 77 mm.

- Refit:
- the hub,
- the "hub carrier - bearing - hub" assembly (see Front Structural Components, Hub carrier, page 31A-10).
- Tighten to the following torques:
- the lower ball joint bolt (6.2 daN.m),
- the steering ball joint nut (3.7 daN.m),
- the driveshaft nut (28 daN.m),
- the shock absorber foot bolt (10.5 daN.m),
- the disc retaining bolt (1.5 daN.m),
- the caliper bracket bolt (10.5 daN.m),
- the wheel bolt (11 daN.m).
