While driving
The ESC OFF mode should be used only briefly to help free the vehicle if it is stuck in snow or mud, by temporarily disabling ESC to allow wheel torque to be maintained.
To turn off ESC while driving, press the ESC OFF button while driving on a level road surface.
NOTICE
To avoid damage to the drivetrain:
- Do not allow the wheel(s) of one axle to spin excessively when the ESC, ABS and brake warning lights are illuminated. Repairs will not be covered under the vehicle warranty. Reduce engine power and do not spin the wheels excessively while these lights are illuminated.
- When operating the vehicle on a dynamometer, make sure the ESC system is turned off (ESC OFF indicator illuminated).
Information
Turning off ESC does not affect the operation of ABS or the standard brake system.
