Headlight Delay Function

~1min read

If the key is removed from the ignition switch or turned to the ACC or LOCK/OFF position with the headlights on, the headlights (and/or parking lights) will remain on for approximately 5 minutes. However, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights will turn off after 15 seconds. However, with the engine off, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights (and/or parking lights) turn off after 15 seconds.

The headlights (and/or parking lights) can be turned off by pressing the lock button on the remote key or Smart Key twice, or by turning the light switch to the OFF or AUTO position. However, if you turn the light switch to the AUTO position when it is dark outside, the headlights will not turn off.

You can activate or deactivate the headlight delay function in the user settings. Mode (Light) on the LCD display.

NOTICE

If the driver exits the vehicle through another door (other than the driver's door), the battery saver function does not operate and the headlight delay function does not turn off automatically. This may cause battery discharge. In this case, be sure to turn off the lights before exiting the vehicle.
