Checking the coolant level

The coolant level is checked in the reserve tank, not in the radiator. With the engine cold, the level should be between the "FULL" and "LOW" marks.
Adding coolant
If the level is below the "LOW" mark, add coolant. Remove the reserve tank cap and add coolant until the level reaches "FULL". Never fill the reserve tank above the "FULL" mark.
NOTE- When topping up or replacing the coolant, use a high-quality antifreeze and corrosion-inhibiting coolant based on ethylene glycol, diluted with distilled water. If the lowest temperature expected at the place of use is −15 °C or higher, prepare a mixture with a glycol concentration of at least 30%, but not more than 50%. If it is −16 °C or lower, prepare a mixture of at least 50%. If 50% concentration does not provide sufficient protection against freezing, follow the instructions on the antifreeze container to obtain the required freezing point.
- To prevent coolant leakage, align the arrows on the cap and the reservoir when installing the cap.
Replacing the Coolant

- With the engine cold, remove the radiator cap by slowly turning it counterclockwise to the stop. Do not press down on the cap while turning it. Wait for the pressure to equalise, then press down on the cap and continue turning it counterclockwise.

WARNING When the coolant is hot, removing the radiator cap is dangerous, as scalding coolant and pressurised steam may be expelled. Wait for the coolant temperature to drop before removing the cap.
- Remove the expansion tank by lifting it and drain it completely.
- Loosen the drain plug located at the bottom of the radiator and drain all the coolant into a suitable container.
- Install the expansion tank and fill it with coolant up to the "FULL" mark.
- Tighten the drain plug on the radiator, fill the radiator with coolant and install the cap.
- After filling, run the engine at idle for 2-3 minutes to bleed air from the cooling system.
- Stop the engine.
- Check the coolant level in the radiator again.
If it has dropped, top it up.
