To maintain its efficiency, the air conditioning filter must be replaced regularly.

Removal Method

  1. Vehicles without smart entry & start system: Set the key to the "LOCK" position in the ignition switch.
Vehicles with smart entry & start system: Turn the engine switch off.
  • Remove the air conditioning filter as shown in the illustration.
  • Replace it with a new one.

    • ■ Replacement intervals Inspect and replace the air conditioning filter according to the scheduled maintenance. In dusty areas or heavy traffic conditions, earlier replacement may be necessary. (For scheduled maintenance information, refer to the "Toyota Maintenance Book" or the "Toyota Warranty Booklet".)

    ■ If airflow from the vents is significantly reduced The filter may be clogged. Check it and replace it if necessary.

    NOTE

    ■ When using the air conditioning system Always make sure a filter is installed.

    Operating the air conditioning system without a filter may cause damage to the system.
