Driving safely
For safe driving, adjust the seat and mirrors to an appropriate position before starting to drive.
Correct driving posture

- Adjust the seatback angle so you can maintain an upright posture and steer without leaning forward.
- Adjust the seat so you can fully depress the pedals and so your arms are slightly bent at the elbows when holding the steering wheel.
- Wear the seat belt correctly.
Correct use of seat belts
Before driving, make sure all occupants are wearing their seat belts. Use an appropriate child restraint system until the child is tall enough to wear the vehicle's seat belt correctly.
Adjusting the mirrors
Make sure you have a clear view of the area behind the vehicle by properly adjusting both the interior rear view mirror and the outside rear view mirrors.
WARNING Observe the following precautions.
Failure to observe this may result in serious or fatal injury.
- Do not adjust the driver's seat position while driving.
The driver may lose control of the vehicle.
A cushion may prevent the occupant from maintaining correct posture and reduce the effectiveness of the seat belt and head restraint.
Objects placed under the front seats may become caught in the seat tracks and prevent the seat from locking properly. This could cause an accident and the adjustment mechanism may be damaged.
Also, if you suddenly feel tired or drowsy while driving, do not force yourself to continue. Stop immediately and take a break.
