■ "PASSENGER AIR BAG" indicator information
If any of the following problems occur, the system may not be functioning properly. Have the vehicle checked by any Toyota dealer or repairer, or another suitably qualified and equipped professional.
- Neither "ON" nor "OFF" lights up.
- The indicator light does not change when the manual airbag on/off switch is set to "ON" or "OFF".
WARNING
■ When installing a child restraint system For safety reasons, always install a child restraint system on a rear seat. If the rear seat cannot be used, the front seat may be used provided the manual airbag on/off switch is set to "OFF".
If the manual airbag on/off switch is left on, the strong impact caused by the airbag deploying (inflating) could cause serious or fatal injury.
■ When no child restraint system is installed on the front passenger seat Make sure the manual airbag on/off switch is set to "ON".
If the system is left deactivated, the airbag may not deploy in a collision, causing serious or fatal injury.
