Installing a child restraint system
Follow the child restraint system manufacturer's instructions.
Secure child seats firmly to the seats using a seat belt or ISOFIX rigid anchorages. When installing a child seat, the top tether must also be connected.

Seat belts (An ELR belt requires a locking clip)

ISOFIX rigid anchorages (ISOFIX child restraint system)
Each rear seat has lower anchorages. (Labels showing the anchorage layout are attached to the seats.)

Anchor brackets (for top tether)
One anchor bracket is provided for each rear seat.
Installing a child restraint system using a seat belt
■ Infant/child seat - rear-facing

■ When installing a child restraint system
A locking clip is required to install the child restraint system.
Follow the instructions provided by the system manufacturer. WARNING
■ When installing a child restraint system Follow the instructions in the child restraint system installation manual and make sure it is securely fixed in place.
If the child restraint system is not securely fixed in place, the child or other passengers could suffer serious or fatal injury in the event of sudden braking, sharp steering or a collision.

- If the driver's seat interferes with the child restraint system and prevents correct installation, place the system on the right side of the rear seat (left-hand drive vehicles) or on the left side of the rear seat (right-hand drive vehicles).
- Adjust the front passenger seat so that it does not interfere with the child restraint system.

- Install a forward-facing child restraint system on the front passenger seat only if unavoidable.
When installing a forward-facing child restraint system on the front passenger seat, move the seat as far back as possible.
Failure to comply could result in serious or fatal injury in the event of airbag deployment (inflation).■ When installing a child restraint system

- Never use a rear-facing child restraint system on the front passenger seat when the manual airbag on/off switch is turned on. In the event of a collision, the force produced by the rapid inflation of the front passenger airbag can cause serious or fatal injury to the child.
■ When installing a child restraint system

- A label on the passenger-side sun visor(s) warns against installing a rear-facing child restraint system on the front passenger seat.

- If there are regulations in your country concerning child restraint systems, contact any authorized Toyota dealer or repair shop, or another suitably qualified and equipped professional for installation of child restraint systems.
- When installing a junior seat, always make sure the shoulder belt passes across the center of the child's shoulder. The belt must be away from the child's neck, but must not slip off the shoulder. Failure to observe this warning could result in serious or fatal injury in the event of sudden braking, sharp steering or a collision.
- Make sure the belt and tongue are securely locked and that the seat belt is not twisted.
- Rock the child restraint system side to side and front to back to make sure it is securely installed.
- After securing a child restraint system, do not adjust the seat.
- Follow the installation instructions of the child restraint system manufacturer.
■ To properly secure a child restraint system to the anchorages When using the lower anchorages, make sure there are no foreign objects around the anchor points and that the seat belt is not caught behind the child restraint system. Make sure the child restraint system is securely fastened; otherwise, in the event of sudden braking, sharp steering or a collision, the child or other vehicle occupants could suffer serious or fatal injury.
■ When the child restraint system is not in use If you need to remove the child restraint system from its anchorage, take it out of the vehicle or store it safely in the luggage compartment. If the head restraint was removed when installing the child restraint system, always reinstall it before driving. This will help prevent it from causing injury to vehicle occupants in the event of sudden braking, sharp steering or an accident.
