PROCEDURE

The connecting rod and piston assembly is removed and disassembled in the same way as on 1.1 and 1.3 L liter engines. Inspection, checking, and repair are performed in the same way as on 1.1 and 1.3 L liter engines, but note that the maximum permissible clearance between the piston and cylinder is 0.07 mm. Assembly of the connecting rod and piston assembly is performed in the same way as on 1.1 and 1.3 L liter engines. Depth of the recess in the piston crown (see figure Piston crown recess dimensions) for the 1.6 L engine is 2.2 mm, and for the 1.8 L engine is 4.4 mm.
