The fuel filter in the Audi 80 has such a large capacity that it does not need to be replaced during the service life of the engine. This is very fortunate, because on all-wheel drive models the entire fuel tank must be removed to remove this filter. This in turn can only be done after removing the rear axle. Fuel filter replacement is recommended only if the fuel filter malfunctions.


Left: on front-wheel drive models, the fuel filter (arrow) is located on the underbody, almost in front of the right rear wheel arch.
