Fuel tank and fuel pump
Fuel accumulator
In this manual: Fuel tank and fuel pump
~1min read
On 5-cylinder engine models with KE-III-Jetronic injection, the fuel accumulator is located at the bottom of the fuel tank protective flange. By spring tension, it maintains fuel pressure in the line leading to the engine while the engine and fuel pump are switched off. The purpose is to supply fuel at the correct pressure immediately when the engine is restarted. The fuel accumulator also compensates for pressure fluctuations on the pump side.
