The chapter on the Park Exit Assistant in the BMW 5 VII generation describes the assistance when leaving tight parking spaces. The system detects obstacles behind and beside the vehicle using ultrasonic and radar sensors. If visibility is limited or cross traffic is present, the driver is warned in good time by visual and acoustic warnings. Steering interventions can also be made automatically to steer the vehicle safely onto the road. Particularly helpful in dense traffic or in narrow parking garages. The Park Exit Assistant ideally complements the functions of the Parking Assistant and increases safety during every reversing maneuver.

This chapter describes all standard, country-specific and optional equipment offered in the model series.
