Fog Lights
The fog light system of the BMW 5 VII Gen provides additional safety in poor visibility. The fog lights can only be activated when the parking lights or low beams are switched on, and they automatically switch on the low beams if required. The green indicator light shows that they are activated, including in conjunction with Automatic Headlight Control. A special guide fog light provides wide illumination of the road up to a speed of 110 km/h. The fog tail lights, with a yellow indicator, only work when the low beams or fog lights are switched on. When driving abroad in particular, adjust the headlight setting for left- or right-hand traffic to avoid glare.

Right-/Left-Hand Traffic
General
When crossing a border into a country where traffic drives on the opposite side of the road from the country of registration, measures must be taken to prevent the headlights from dazzling other road users.
The fog lights and fog tail lights of the BMW 5 G30/G31 provide more safety in limited visibility. They significantly improve visibility and make your vehicle more visible in fog, heavy rain or snowfall. Thanks to simple operation, they are quickly ready for use when needed.
The guide fog light in particular provides additional orientation through wider illumination of the road, increasing safety, especially on country roads or in rural areas. The automatic activation of the low beams when the fog lights are switched on is another well-thought-out feature of the system.
