Light sensor

~2min read

The light sensor consists of the following components:

  • an upward-facing photodiode,
  • a forward-facing photodiode,
  • signal conditioning electronics,
  • a connector base.

The system ignores any tint on the windscreen. Replacing a windscreen with the same part reference does not affect the function of the system and does not change its characteristics in any way.

The light sensor is directly connected to the BSI, which centralises all the information required to manage the automatic headlamp function.

The light sensor can be fitted and removed. A right / left polarisation feature ensures the light sensor is positioned correctly.

Note: The light sensor clips onto a mounting ring located on the windscreen. It is of the one-piece type and cannot be repaired.
