Available space measurement

Available space measurement
System measuring the available parking space between two vehicles or obstacles. It measures the size of the space and provides information on:
- whether you can park in the free space, depending on the size of your vehicle and the distances required to complete your manoeuvres,
- the difficulty level of the manoeuvre to be performed.
The system does not measure spaces that are significantly smaller or larger than the vehicle's dimensions.
Instrument cluster displays
The available parking space measurement indicator lamp can have three different states:
- off: the function is not selected,
- steady on: the function is selected, but the measurement conditions are not yet met (turn indicator not activated, speed too high) or the measurement is complete,
- flashing: the measurement is in progress or the message is displayed.

You can select the available parking space measurement function by pressing control A.
The steady indicator light shows that the function has been selected.
During measurement, the message "Measuring - Vmax 20 km/h" is displayed on the instrument panel screen.
Operation
- You have identified an available space:
- Press control A to select the function.
- Activate the turn indicator on the side of the space to be measured.
- During measurement, drive slowly along the space, at a speed below 20 km/h, to prepare for your manoeuvre.
The system then measures the size of the space.

- The system indicates the difficulty level of the manoeuvre by a message on the instrument panel screen, accompanied by a chime.
- Depending on the message given by the system, you may or may not carry out your manoeuvre.
The function displays the following messages:

Parking YES

Parking difficult

Parking NO
The function deselects automatically:
- when reverse gear is engaged,
- when the ignition is switched off,
- if no measurement is requested,
- within five minutes after selecting the function,
- if the vehicle speed exceeds the 70 km/h threshold for one minute.
If the lateral distance between your vehicle and the space is too large, the system may not measure the space.
The function remains available after each measurement and can thus measure several spaces in succession.
In bad weather and in winter, make sure the sensors are not covered by dirt, frost or snow.
The available parking space measurement function deactivates the front parking assistance during forward measurement phase.
In the event of a fault, have the system checked by a CITROËN dealer network.
