SCR system
Using an additive called AdBlue, which contains urea, the catalytic converter converts up to 85% of nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen and water, which are harmless to health and the environment.
The AdBlue additive is stored in a special tank located under the luggage compartment at the rear of the vehicle. Its capacity is 17 litres, allowing a range of about 20,000 km before the warning device activates, which alerts the driver when the tank contents allow only 2400 km of driving.
At every scheduled service at a CITROËN dealer or a specialist workshop, the AdBlue tank is completely refilled to ensure the SCR system operates correctly.
If the estimated distance between two consecutive services exceeds 20,000 km, we recommend going to a CITROËN dealer or a specialist workshop to top up the additive.
When the AdBlue tank is empty, the installed device prevents the engine from restarting. When the SCR system is faulty, the vehicle's pollutant emissions no longer meet Euro 6 regulations: your vehicle starts to pollute the environment. If an SCR system fault is confirmed, go to a CITROËN dealer or a specialist workshop as soon as possible: after 1100 km, the device will automatically activate to prevent the engine from starting.Test yourself
