Driving the vehicle
Operating principle
In this manual: Driving the vehicle

Ultrasonic sensors, located in the rear bumper, "measure" the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle when reversing.
The system emits audible signals whose frequency increases as the vehicle approaches an obstacle. When the obstacle is approximately 40 centimetres from the vehicle, the signal becomes continuous.
When reverse gear is engaged, an audible signal sounds. If the signal is long (3 seconds), it indicates a malfunction.
Note: make sure the ultrasonic sensors are not covered by anything (dirt, mud, snow, etc.).

If the underbody of the vehicle strikes an obstacle while manoeuvring (for example, a kerb, a raised curb or another road element), the vehicle may be damaged (e.g. a bent axle). To avoid the risk of a more serious fault, have the vehicle checked by an Authorised Dacia Dealer. This function is an additional aid when reversing. It informs the driver, by audible signals, of the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle. However, it can in no case replace the driver, who must stay alert and remain responsible when manoeuvring in reverse. The driver should always be prepared for sudden events that may occur while driving: when manoeuvring, watch for moving obstacles (such as a child, an animal, a pram, a bicycle, etc.) and for obstacles too small for the system to detect (a medium-sized stone, a thin post, etc.).
