GENERAL INFORMATION.

temperature. At low air temperature (–40°C), the thermistor resistance is approximately 100 kOhm, and at high temperature (130°C) only 70

Ohm. The ECU supplies the IAT circuit with a constant reference voltage through a series

connected resistor. The IAT signal voltage is high when the air in the intake

manifold is cold and decreases as the air temperature rises. From the IAT

signal voltage, the ECU determines the air temperature in the intake

manifold..

The IAT signal is used by the ECU to control ignition timing advance when cold air enters the engine..

If the IAT circuit fails, the ECU sets fault code

The IAT sensor is installed on the air cleaner housing.

3. Carefully unscrew the IAT sensor..

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Electrical connector..

4. Connect the negative battery cable.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Apply sealant P/N 1052080 or equivalent to the threads..

2. Screw the DTV into the socket. Tighten the DTV to torque 30 N·m..

4. Carefully unscrew the ECT sensor..
