Vehicles Sold in the USA: Obtaining Roadside Assistance

To provide complete assistance if you have a vehicle breakdown, Ford Motor Company offers a free roadside assistance program. This program is separate from the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

The service is available:

  • 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • For the coverage period provided with your vehicle.

Roadside assistance includes:

  • Replacement of a flat tire with a serviceable spare tire (does not include tire inflation kit).
  • Jump starting the battery.
  • Unlock assistance (cost of key replacement is paid by the customer).
  • Fuel delivery: independent service contractors, unless prohibited by state, local or municipal law, must deliver up to 2 gallons (8 L) of gasoline or 5 gallons (20 L) of diesel fuel to an eligible vehicle. Roadside assistance limits fuel delivery service to two complimentary occurrences within a 12-month period.
  • Winch-out service: available within 100 feet (30 m) of a paved or maintained public road; no returns.
  • Towing: independent service contractors, unless prohibited by state, local or municipal law, must tow eligible Ford vehicles to an authorized dealer within 35 miles (56 km) of the breakdown location or to the nearest authorized dealer. If the member requests towing to an authorized dealer more than 35 miles (56 km) from the breakdown location, the member is responsible for any mileage cost exceeding 35 miles (56 km).
  • Roadside assistance includes up to $200 USD for a towed trailer if the disabled eligible vehicle requires service at the nearest authorized dealer. If the towed vehicle is operable but the trailer is not, the trailer is not eligible for any roadside service.

Vehicles Sold in the United States: Using Roadside Assistance

Fill in the roadside assistance identification card and keep it in your wallet for quick reference. This card is included in the owner's guide.

Vehicle owners in the USA requiring roadside assistance, call 1-800-241-3673.

If you need roadside assistance, Ford Motor Company will reimburse a reasonable amount for towing to the nearest dealer within 35 miles (56 km). To obtain information on reimbursement, U.S. vehicle customers should call 1-800-241-3673. Customers must provide their original receipts.

Vehicles Sold in Canada: Roadside Assistance

To provide you with complete assistance, if you have a vehicle from Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, a free roadside assistance program is offered. This program is valid within Canada or the continental United States.

Service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This program is separate from the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, but its coverage period coincides with the powertrain warranty period of your vehicle. Canadian roadside assistance coverage and benefits may differ from U.S. coverage.
