CAUTION

Do not attempt to open the driver knee airbag cover.

The driver knee airbag deploys in frontal collisions or impacts at angles of up to 30 degrees from the vehicle's longitudinal axis, from the left or right side. The airbag inflates within a few milliseconds and begins to deflate on contact with the driver's body, protecting the driver's knees from striking the steering column.

The knee airbag will not deploy in a vehicle rollover, or in rear or side impacts.

Note: The knee airbag has a lower deployment threshold than the front airbags. In a lighter impact, only the knee airbag may deploy.
