WARNINGS

  • Do not make any modifications to the front of the vehicle. This may adversely affect airbag deployment.
  • Original text according to ECE R94.01: Warning! A rear-facing child restraint must not be installed on a seat protected by a front airbag!
  • Always wear your seat belt and maintain an adequate distance from the steering wheel. The seat belt restrains the body, allowing the airbag to protect you effectively only when the belt is properly fastened.
See Sitting in the Correct Position (page 85).
  • Any repairs to the steering wheel, steering column, seats, airbags and seat belts may only be carried out by suitably trained personnel.
  • Keep the areas in front of the airbags clear at all times. Do not attach anything to or over the airbag covers.
  • Do not handle sharp objects near the airbags. This may cause damage or adversely affect airbag deployment.
  • Use only seat covers specifically designed for seats equipped with side airbags. They must be fitted by specially trained personnel.
  • Note: If an airbag deploys, you will hear a loud bang and see a cloud of harmless dust. This is normal.

Note: Airbag covers may only be wiped with a damp cloth.
