- Park on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and turn on the hazard warning lamps.
- Place the transmission in Park (P) and turn off the engine. For vehicles with a manual transmission, place the transmission in Reverse (R) after you turn off the engine.

- Block the front and rear wheel diagonally opposite the flat tire. For example, if the left front wheel is flat, block the right rear wheel.
- The spare wheel, jack and wheel wrench are located in the spare wheel compartment under the cargo area floor.
- Remove the spare wheel retaining bolt by turning it counterclockwise.
- Remove the spare wheel, jack and coupe spare wheel wrench.

- Turn the hex nut on the jack counterclockwise to remove the jack handle. This lowers the jack and releases the mechanical lock.

- Unfold the handle for use.

- If your vehicle has wheel covers with locking lug nuts, use the tool attached to the spare wheel retainer to remove the wheel trim.

- If jacking on the side of the road, place the warning triangle upright on the shoulder facing oncoming traffic, if the vehicle is equipped with a warning triangle.
- Loosen each wheel lug nut by half a turn counterclockwise, but do not remove them until the wheel is raised off the ground.

- You can identify the jacking points by the triangular marks on the rocker panel molding, as shown. The triangle marking may be on the side or the underside of the molding. On vehicles without rocker moldings, a pair of arrows on the metal flange pointing to the jacking point between them identifies the jacking points. The warning label on the jack shows the details.

- Position the jack under the jacking point next to the tire you are changing. Turn the jack handle clockwise until the wheel is completely off the ground.
- Remove the wheel nuts with the socket end of the wrench.
- Install the spare tire in place of the flat tire, making sure the valve stem faces outward. Install the nuts until the wheel is seated flush against the hub. Do not fully tighten the nuts until you lower the vehicle. If you are using a temporary spare tire, the nut washers may not appear flush with the wheel. This is normal only when using a temporary spare wheel.
- Lower the wheel by turning the jack handle counterclockwise.
- Remove the jack and fully tighten the nuts in the specified sequence.

- To store the folded jack handle, hook the jack bracket onto the base of the wrench function as shown. Turn the handle upward and adjust the jack height until the pin enters the hole. Tighten the hex nut clockwise by hand until it stops.

- Stow the flat tire, jack and wheel wrench. Make sure the jack is secured before driving.
- Unlock the wheel and remove the warning triangle.
