Avviamento veicolo con cavi volanti
  1. Connect the positive (+) jump lead to the positive (+) terminal of the discharged battery.
  2. Connect the other end of the positive (+) jump lead to the positive (+) terminal of the battery in the second vehicle.
  3. Connect the negative (-) jump lead to the negative (-) terminal of the battery in the second vehicle.
  4. Make the final connection of the negative (-) jump lead to an unpainted metal engine part on the vehicle with the flat battery, away from the battery and the fuel injection system.
Note: Do not connect the negative (-) cable to fuel supply lines, rocker cover, intake manifold or electrical components by using them as earth points.

DANGER

Do not connect the other end of the second cable to the negative (-) terminal of the battery to be connected on the second vehicle. A spark may cause an explosion of the gases released around the battery.

Make sure the leads are kept clear of cooling fans, drive belts, moving engine parts, and any part of the fuel delivery system.

Starting with jump lead connected
  1. Start the engine of the second vehicle and run it at a moderate speed.
  2. Start the engine of the vehicle with the flat battery.
Note: On vehicles with a manual transmission, when the battery is discharged or a new battery is installed, the engine will not start until the clutch pedal is pressed and held down for two seconds. Then release the pedal and wait two seconds with the key turned to ON and the engine off.
  1. After starting the vehicle with the flat battery, keep both engines running for another three minutes before disconnecting the jump leads.
