Privacy information
When a mobile phone is connected to the SYNC system, the system creates a profile that is linked to the phone. Creating this profile allows the customer to use a greater number of phone functions and improves operating efficiency. Among other things, this profile can contain data relating to the phone's contacts, text messages (read and unread) and the call log. This includes calls logged while the phone was not connected to the system. In addition, when a digital player is connected, the system creates and stores an index of its supported content. The system also stores a short development log of approximately 10 minutes of all recent system activity. The log profile and other system data may be used to improve the system and to simplify the diagnosis of any problems that may occur.
The phone profile, the digital player index and the development log remain stored in the system unless they are deleted. Generally, they can be accessed from your vehicle only by connecting your mobile phone or digital player. If you decide to stop using the system or the vehicle, it is advisable to perform a master reset, which deletes all stored information. See SYNC.Special equipment is required to access system data. In addition, access to the SYNC module of your vehicle is required. Without consent, we will not access system data for purposes other than those described. Examples of cases in which system data may be accessed are court orders or where required by law enforcement, other government authorities or third parties acting as legitimate authorities. Other parties, independent of us, may attempt to access the information. More information on privacy is available. See SYNC Applications and Services.
