PROCEDURE

1. Wait until the radiator cools down to 38 °C, remove the radiator cap, and install the cooling system pressure tester in its place.
2. Apply a pressure of 139.3 kPa to the cooling system.

3. Make sure the cooling system pressure of 139.3 kPa is maintained for 2 min.

Do not remove the radiator cap on a hot engine. Escaping steam can cause serious burns.

Cover the radiator cap with a thick cloth and slowly turn the cap until you hear steam escaping.

After the steam stops escaping, slowly turn and remove the radiator cap.

4. If the pressure does not hold, locate and repair the leak.
