Smart Cruise Control Speed
Setting the Smart Cruise Control Speed

1. Press the CRUISE button on the steering wheel to turn the system on. The cruise indicator will illuminate.
2. Accelerate to the desired speed. Smart Cruise Control speed can be set when the vehicle speed is within 5-110 mph (10-180 km/h).
However, 30 km/h is set when the vehicle speed is 5–30 km/h.

3. Push the switch down (SET-). The set speed and distance between vehicles will appear on the LCD display.
4. Release the accelerator pedal. The desired speed will be maintained automatically.
If a vehicle is ahead of you, the speed may decrease to maintain the distance to the vehicle ahead.
On a steep hill, the vehicle may slightly decelerate or accelerate uphill or downhill.
Information
- Vehicle speed may decrease going uphill and increase going downhill.
- When vehicle speed is below 10 km/h, Smart Cruise Control is canceled. The driver must adjust vehicle speed by depressing the accelerator pedal or the brake pedal depending on road conditions ahead and driving conditions.
To Increase the Smart Cruise Control Set Speed

Perform any of the following procedures:
- Push the switch up (RES+) and release it immediately. The cruise speed will increase by 1 mph (1 km/h) each time the switch is pushed up in this way.
- Push the switch up (RES+) and hold it. The set speed of your vehicle will increase by 5 mph (10 km/h). Release the switch at the desired speed.
CAUTION
Before using the switch, check traffic and driving conditions. Driving speed may increase rapidly if the switch is pushed up and held.
To Decrease the Smart Cruise Control Set Speed

Perform any of the following procedures:
- Push the switch down (SET-) and release it immediately. The cruise speed will decrease by 1 mph (1 km/h) each time the switch is pushed down in this way.
- Push the switch down (SET-) and hold it. The set speed of your vehicle will decrease by 5 mph (10 km/h). Release the switch at the desired speed.
- You can set the speed up to 30 km/h.
To Temporarily Accelerate with Smart Cruise Control Active
If you want to temporarily increase speed while Smart Cruise Control is active, depress the accelerator pedal. The increased speed will not interfere with Smart Cruise Control operation or change the set speed.
To return to the set speed, release the accelerator pedal.
If you push the switch down (SET-) at the increased speed, the cruise speed will be set again at the current speed.
CAUTION
Use caution when temporarily accelerating, because speed is not controlled automatically at this time, even if a vehicle is ahead of you.
The Smart Cruise Control set speed will be temporarily canceled if:

Canceled Manually
- The brake pedal is pressed.
- By pressing the CANCEL button located on the steering wheel.
Smart Cruise Control is temporarily deactivated when the set speed and distance indicator on the instrument cluster LCD turn off.
The cruise indicator stays on.
Canceled Automatically
- The driver door is opened.
- The vehicle is shifted to N (Neutral), R (Reverse), or P (Park).
- The vehicle speed exceeds 120 mph (190 km/h).
- The vehicle stops on a steep slope.
- ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System) or ABS is operating.
- ESC is turned off.
- The sensor or cover is contaminated or blocked by foreign matter.
- The vehicle is stopped for a certain period of time.
- The vehicle stops and starts repeatedly over a long period of time.
- The accelerator pedal is depressed continuously for a long period of time.
- Engine operation is abnormal.
- Engine speed is in the red zone.
- The driver starts moving by pushing the switch up (RES+)/down (SET-) or by depressing the accelerator pedal after the vehicle has stopped behind a vehicle that is stopped far ahead.
- The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system is activated.
- The engine is stopped by the ISG (Idle Stop and Go) system (if equipped).
Each of these actions cancels Smart Cruise Control operation. The set speed and distance between vehicles on the instrument cluster LCD will turn off.
If Smart Cruise Control is canceled automatically, Smart Cruise Control will not resume even if the RES+ or SET- switch is pushed.
In addition, if Smart Cruise Control is automatically canceled while the vehicle is at rest, the EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) is applied.
Information
If Smart Cruise Control is canceled in a situation not described here, have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

Smart Cruise Control Canceled
If the system is canceled, a warning chime will sound and a message will appear for several seconds.
You must adjust vehicle speed by depressing the accelerator or brake pedal depending on the road and traffic conditions.
Always check road conditions. Do not rely on the warning chime.
To Resume the Smart Cruise Control Set Speed
If a method other than the cruise switch was used to cancel cruise and the system is still activated, the cruise speed will automatically resume when you push the RES+ or SET- switch.
If you push the switch up (RES+), the vehicle will return to the last set speed. However, the vehicle speed must be above 10 km/h.
WARNING
- To avoid a collision, always pay attention to the set speed and the distance to the vehicle ahead when the Smart Cruise Control is activated.
- Always maintain a sufficient braking distance and reduce vehicle speed by applying the brakes when necessary.
To Turn Off Cruise Control

• Press the CRUISE button (the cruise indicator will turn off).
If you do not want to use the cruise control system, always turn the system off by pressing the CRUISE button.
