System Malfunction

Check the Driver Attention Warning (DAW) System
If a warning message appears, the system is not operating properly. In this case, have the vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
- The Driver Attention Warning system does not replace safe driving practices; it is only a convenience feature. It is the driver's responsibility to always drive carefully to prevent unexpected and sudden situations from occurring. Always pay attention to road conditions.
- A driver who feels tired should take a break, even if the Driver Attention Warning system does not recommend one.
Information
The system may recommend a break depending on the driver's driving style or habits, even if the driver does not feel tired.
NOTICE
The Driver Attention Warning system uses a camera sensor mounted on the upper part of the windshield to operate. To keep the camera sensor in the best condition, observe the following:
- NEVER install any accessories or stickers on the front windshield or tinted windshield.
- NEVER place any reflective objects (for example, white paper or a mirror) on the emergency pad. Any light reflection may prevent the system from operating correctly.
- Take extra care to keep the camera sensor dry.
- Never disassemble the camera assembly or subject the camera assembly to any impact. If the sensor is forced out of proper alignment, the system may not operate correctly. Take your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer and have the system checked for calibration.
CAUTION
The Driver Attention Warning (DAW) system may not provide warnings in the following situations:
- Lane detection performance is limited. (For more details, refer to "Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) System" in this chapter.)
- The vehicle is moving erratically or makes a sharp turn to avoid an obstacle (e.g., construction zone, other vehicles, fallen objects, rough road).
- Front steering performance of the vehicle is severely impaired (possibly due to large tire pressure differences, uneven tire wear, or wheel alignment).
- The vehicle is driving on a winding road.
- The vehicle is driving on a bumpy road.
- The vehicle is driving in a windy area.
- The vehicle is controlled by the following assist systems:
- Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) System
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) System
- Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) System
- Smart Cruise Control (SCC) System
CAUTION
Playing the vehicle audio system at high volume may prevent passengers from hearing the driver warning chime (DAW).
