System Setting and Activation
System Settings

• Forward Safety Setting
The driver can activate FCA by setting the ignition switch to the ON position and selecting:
"User Settings → Driver Assistance → Forward Safety"
- If you select "Active Assist", FCA is activated. FCA issues warning messages and warning signals according to collision risk levels. Braking assistance will be applied according to the collision risk.
- If you select "Warning Only", FCA is activated and only issues warning signals according to collision risk levels. Braking assistance will not be applied in this setting.
- If you select "Off", FCA is deactivated,

When FCA is turned off, a warning indicator illuminates on the LCD display. The driver can check the FCA ON/OFF status on the LCD display. In addition, a warning illuminates when ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is turned off. If the warning indicator remains on when FCA is activated, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

• Warning timing setting
The driver can select the timing of the initial warning on the LCD display.
Go to User Settings → Driver Assistance → Warning Timing → Normal/Late.
The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) initial warning timing options are as follows:
- Normal:
When this option is selected, the Forward Collision-Avoidance initial warning is activated earlier than Late. If you feel the warning activates too early, set Forward Collision Warning to Late.
Even though Normal is selected, if the vehicle ahead suddenly stops, the initial warning timing may not seem as quick.
- Late:
When this option is selected, the initial forward collision warning is activated later than usual. This setting reduces the distance between your vehicle and a vehicle or pedestrian ahead before the initial warning is issued.
Select Late when traffic is light and driving speed is low.
Information
If you change the warning timing, the warning timing of other systems may change. Always be careful before changing the warning timing.
Activation Conditions
The FCA system is turned on and ready when Active Assist or Warning Only is selected in Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist on the LCD display, and the following conditions are met:
- ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is on.
- Vehicle speed is above approximately 10 km/h (FCA is activated only within a certain speed range).
- The system detects a pedestrian or vehicle ahead that may collide with your vehicle. (FCA may not activate or may issue a warning depending on the road situation or vehicle condition.)
- If you select "Warning Only," FCA is activated and issues only warnings according to the collision risk levels. (FCA may not operate properly depending on the front situation, the direction of a pedestrian or cyclist (if equipped), and speed.)
WARNING
- FCA is automatically activated when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. The driver can deactivate FCA by changing the system setting on the cluster LCD display. To avoid distracting the driver, do not attempt to set or cancel FCA while driving the vehicle.
- FCA is automatically deactivated when ESC is turned off. When ESC is turned off, FCA cannot be activated on the cluster LCD display. The FCA indicator light will illuminate, which is normal.
