Information

If the power door lock stops working while you are inside the vehicle, try one or more of the following methods to exit:

  • Use the door unlock function repeatedly (both electronic and manual) while pulling the door handle.
  • Open other door locks and handles at the front and rear.
  • Lower the front window and use the mechanical key to unlock the door from the outside.

With Central Door Lock Switch

  • Pressing the part ( ) (1) of the switch locks all vehicle doors.
-- If the key is in the ignition switch and any door is open, the doors will not lock even if the lock button (1) of the central door lock switch is pressed.
-- If the smart key is in the vehicle and any door is open, the doors will not lock even if the lock button (1) of the central door lock switch is pressed.
  • Pressing the part ( ) (2) of the switch unlocks all vehicle doors.
  • Door Indicator Light (3) When all vehicle doors are locked, the indicator lights on the driver's door and passenger's door will illuminate. If any door is open, the light will go off.

WARNING

  • Doors should always be fully closed and locked while the vehicle is in motion. If the doors are unlocked, the risk of being thrown from the vehicle in an accident increases.
  • Do not pull the inside door handle of the driver's or passenger's door while the vehicle is moving.

WARNING

Never leave children or animals unattended in your vehicle. A closed vehicle can become extremely hot, causing death or serious injury to unattended children or animals who cannot leave the vehicle.

Children may operate vehicle functions, which may injure them, or they may encounter other harm, possibly from someone gaining access to the vehicle.

WARNING

Always secure your vehicle.

Leaving the vehicle unlocked increases the potential risk to you or others from someone hiding in your vehicle.

To secure your vehicle, depress the brake pedal, move the shift lever to the P (Park) position, apply the parking brake, and place the ignition key in the LOCK/OFF position. Close all windows, lock all doors, and always take the key with you.

WARNING

If you remain in the vehicle for a long time while the weather is very hot or cold, there is a risk of injury or danger to life. Do not lock the vehicle from the outside when someone is inside.

WARNING

Opening a door when something is approaching may cause damage or injury. Be careful when opening doors and watch for vehicles, motorcycles, cyclists, or pedestrians approaching the vehicle on the path of the door.
