Maintenance operations - cooling system leak inspection

~1min read

1. Remove the radiator cap.

2. Check that the coolant level reaches the radiator filler neck.

3. Connect a radiator cap tester to the radiator filler neck and apply a pressure of 140 kPa. Maintain the specified pressure for 2 minutes and check for coolant leaks from the radiator, hose connections, or the cooling system hoses.

1. The coolant may be extremely hot. Do not remove the radiator cap, as this may release steam and spray hot or boiling coolant, which may cause personal injury. Work on the cooling system only after the engine has cooled down.

2. Thoroughly wipe moisture from the surfaces of all parts being checked for leaks.

3. When removing the radiator cap tester from the radiator filler neck, be careful not to spill coolant.

4. When connecting and disconnecting the tester, and during the test, be careful not to deform the radiator filler neck.

4. При наличии утечек отремонтируйте или замените соответствующую деталь.

4. If leaks are found, repair or replace the affected part.
