Air Conditioning

~2min read

1. Start the engine. Press the A/C button.

2. Set the mode toposition.

3. Set the outside air or recirculated air control to the desired position.

4. Adjust the fan speed and temperature control to maintain maximum comfort.

✽ NOTICE

  • When using the air conditioning system, carefully monitor the engine temperature gauge while driving in mountains or in heavy traffic when the outside temperature is high. Air conditioner operation may cause the engine to overheat. Continue to use the blower fan, but turn off the air conditioning system if the engine temperature gauge indicates engine overheating.
  • When opening the windows in humid weather, water droplets may form inside the vehicle. Since excessive water droplets may damage electrical equipment, the air conditioner should be operated only with the windows closed.

Air Conditioning System Operation Tips

  • If the vehicle has been parked in direct sunlight in hot weather, open the windows briefly to allow hot air to escape from the vehicle.
  • To reduce humidity inside the windows on rainy or humid days, reduce humidity inside the vehicle using the air conditioning system.
  • During air conditioning system operation, you may sometimes notice a slight change in engine speed as the air conditioner compressor cycles. This is a normal characteristic of system operation.
  • Use the air conditioning system for a few minutes each month to ensure maximum system performance.
  • After the vehicle has cooled sufficiently, switch back from recirculated air to fresh air position.
  • When the air conditioning system is in use, you may notice clear water dripping (or even a puddle) on the ground under the passenger side of the vehicle. This is a normal system operating characteristic.
  • Operating the air conditioning system in the recirculation position provides maximum cooling; however, continuous operation in this mode may cause the air inside the vehicle to become stale.
  • During cooling mode, you may sometimes notice a misty airflow due to rapid cooling and the entry of humid air. This is a normal system operating characteristic.
