Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable from the battery.
Remove the engine under cover. (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
Drain the engine oil. (Refer to Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")
Remove the lower oil pan (A). [2WD][AWD]
Insert the SST blade (09215-3C000) between the upper oil pan and the lower oil pan. Cut the applied sealant and remove the lower oil pan.
Insert the SST between the oil pan and the frame rail, tapping it with a plastic hammer in the direction indicated by the arrow.
After tapping the SST along the direction of the arrow around more than 2/3 of the oil pan edge with a plastic hammer, remove the oil pan from the frame rail.
Do not use the SST as a pry bar. Hold the tool in position (on the gasket line) and tap it lightly with a hammer.
Be careful not to damage the mating surfaces of the upper and lower oil pans.
Remove the subframe from the vehicle.
Remove the timing chain cover. (Refer to Valve Timing - Timing Chain Cover)
Remove the lower oil pan. (Refer to Lubrication System - "Oil Pan").
Remove the A/C compressor. (Refer to Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning - "Compressor")
Remove the upper oil pan (A).
Insert the SST blade (09215-3C000) between the upper oil pan and the lower oil pan. Cut the applied sealant and remove the lower oil pan.
Remove the subframe from the vehicle.
Remove the drive shaft and axle. (Refer to Drive Shaft and Axle - "Front Drive Shaft")
Remove the front differential. (Refer to Drive Shaft and Axle - "Front Differential Carrier")
Remove the timing chain cover. (Refer to Valve Timing - Timing Chain Cover)
Remove the lower oil pan. (Refer to Lubrication System - "Oil Pan").
Remove the A/C compressor. (Refer to Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning - "Compressor")
Disconnect the oil pump control connector, and while holding the clips (A), push the connector (B) inward.
Remove the upper oil pan (A).
Insert the SST blade (09215-3C000) between the upper oil pan and the lower oil pan. Cut the applied sealant and remove the lower oil pan.
Remove the oil pump. (Refer to Lubrication System - "Oil Pump")
Remove the oil pump (A) together with the upper oil pan (B).

Installation
[Lower Oil Pan]
Install the lower oil pan (A).
A.
Using a gasket scraper, remove all old sealant from the gasket surfaces.
B.
Before assembling the oil pan, apply liquid gasket THREE BOND 1217H to the oil pan. Assemble within 5 minutes after applying the sealant.
Bead width: 2.5 mm (0.1 in)
[2WD] [AWD]
Clean the sealing surfaces before assembling the two parts.
Remove harmful foreign material from the sealing surface before applying the sealant.
When applying sealant, make sure the sealant does not protrude into the oil pan.
To prevent oil leakage, apply sealant to the internal threads of the bolt holes.
After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before adding engine oil.
C.
Install the oil pan (A). Tighten the bolts in two or three steps. [2WD][AWD]
After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil. (Refer to Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")
Install the remaining components in the reverse order of removal.
