OFF

With manual transmission
To shut off the engine (START/RUN position) or the vehicle's power (ON position), stop the vehicle, then press the Engine Start/Stop button.
With automatic transmission
To turn off the engine (START / RUN position) or the vehicle power (ON position), press the engine start / stop button with the shift lever in P (Park). When the engine start / stop button is pressed without the shift lever in P (Park), the engine start / stop button will not switch to the OFF position, but to the ACC position.
Vehicles equipped with an anti-theft steering wheel lock
The steering wheel locks when the engine start / stop button is in the OFF position to protect the vehicle from theft attempts.
It locks when the door is opened.
If the steering wheel is not locked properly when the driver's door is opened, the buzzer will sound. Try to lock the steering wheel again. If the problem persists, it is recommended that the vehicle be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
In addition, if the engine start / stop button is in the OFF position after the driver's door has been opened, the steering wheel will not lock and the buzzer will sound. In this situation, close the door. The steering wheel will then lock and the buzzer will stop sounding.
NOTE
If the steering wheel is not properly locked, the engine start / stop button will not work. Press the engine start / stop button while turning the steering wheel to the right and left to unlock it.
WARNING To shut off the engine in an emergency: Press and hold the Engine Start/Stop button for more than two seconds, OR quickly press and release the same button three times (within three seconds). If the vehicle is still moving, you can restart the engine without pressing the brake pedal by pressing the Engine Start/Stop button with the shift lever in N (Neutral).Test yourself
