Power Windows

(1) Driver's door window switch
(2) Front passenger's door window switch
(3) Rear door window switch (right)
(4) Rear door window switch (left)
(5) Window open and close
(6) Automatic window function
(7) Window lock switch
The ignition switch must be in the ON position to raise or lower the windows. Each door has a power window switch to control the window in that door. The driver's door has a power window lock switch, which can disable operation of the passenger windows. Power windows will operate for approximately 30 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ACC or OFF. However, if either front door is opened, the power windows will not operate even within the 30 seconds.
WARNING
To avoid serious injury or death, do not put your head, hands, or body out of the windows while driving.
Information
- In cold and humid climates, the power windows may malfunction due to freezing conditions.
- While driving with the rear windows down or the sunroof (if equipped) open (or partially open), your vehicle may exhibit buffeting or pulsating noise. This noise is normal and can be reduced or eliminated by taking the following actions. If the noise occurs with one or both rear windows down, partially lower both front windows approximately 2.5 cm (1 in). If you hear noise with the sunroof open, slightly close the sunroof.
Opening and Closing the Window

To open:
Press the window switch down to the first detent (5). Release the switch when you want the window to stop.
Closing:
Pull the power window switch up to the first detent (5). Release the switch when you want the window to stop.
Auto Down Power Window (if equipped)
Pressing the power window switch momentarily to the second detent position (6) fully lowers the window, even if the switch is released. To stop the window at the desired position while it is moving, pull up or press down and release the switch.
Automatic Window Up/Down (if equipped)
Pressing or pulling the window switch momentarily to the second detent position (6) fully lowers or raises the window, even if the switch is released. To stop the window at the desired position while it is moving, pull up or press down and release the switch.
Resetting the Power Windows
If the power windows do not operate normally, the automatic window system must be reset as follows:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the window and continue pulling the window switch for at least one second.
If the power windows do not operate after a reset, it is recommended that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI service center.
WARNING
The automatic reverse function is not activated when the power window system is reset. Make sure hands, other body parts or objects are clear of the window before closing to avoid injury or vehicle damage.
